Wraiths of Meditation

Meditation practice is setting a fire in your soul. The fuel is your own neurosis, your own boredom and distraction. Eventually the fire blazes, and the warmth remains even when you do not tend to it. Eventually the fire consumes the very structure that contains the fireplace. At that point, you'd better not struggle. You could end up dissociated from it, a withered wraith, always hovering and wishing the process could continue but unable or unwilling to rejoin it. And besides, the fire has gone out by that point.
